In this excursion we will visit Lamas, a small and very colorful city located near Tarapoto, Lamas is considered the Folkloric Capital of the Peruvian Amazon because it has a rich history where the traditions of the ancient Chancas merge with the customs brought by the Spaniards.
We will pick you up from your accommodation to start this excursion through the town of Lamas, located a few minutes from the city of Tarapoto. Our first point of visit will be the main square of Lamas. Then we will go to the ethnographic museum, an optional activity that is at the adventurer’s expense, a place where you can learn about the history and customs of the Chancas and Lamistas. Later we will go to the highest part of the city: the viewpoint of La Cruz where we will appreciate the great valley that is the road to the Altomayo area. We will also visit the Castle of Rocks, a medieval construction of dream in the middle of the jungle from where we will appreciate Lamas in all its splendor. And finally, we will get to know the culture of the Wayku native community, who will let us know about the benefits of their products such as sangre de grado, Copaiba, Sacha inchi, among others.
