The mountain of Ausangate is known for being one of the most important Apus (mountain spirit) of the Cusco region and being located near the mountain of 7 colors and the Palccoyo Rainbow mountain range. It is one of the highest snow-capped mountains in Cusco, it is at 6,384 masl.
The tour begins with the pick up of our passengers from their respective lodging between 4:20 and 5:00 am. The process is carried out in compliance with the biosecurity and health protocols established by MINSA.
After the concentration of our passengers, we will go to the community of Tinke which is located about 3 hours from the city (to the south) and at an altitude of 3,780 meters above sea level. At this point we will take the detour to the community of Pacchanta. Here we will enjoy a delicious local breakfast. After breakfast we will get ready to start the tour of the 7 lagoons of Ausangate. The hike is approximately 8 km that we will cover in 5 hours. We will visit the lagoons of: Azulqocha, Otorongo, Alqacocha, Qomercocha and Patacocha 4,740 m.a.s.l.; we will also be able to appreciate the mountain of Ausangate from very close. During the trip we will see native birds of the area, alpacas, llamas, many vizcachas and hopefully the Andean condor. At the end of the circuit we will return to the community of Pacchanta to enjoy a local lunch. If you wish, you can take a bath in the thermal medicinal waters to relax (optional).
